I am just making this post to tell you guys what its like having a dual boot with Windows 8 and Mac OSX 10.
My specs are 13"/i7/8/256
Battery Life:
Battery life is still as amazing as it is on OSX. I can easily get around 8-10 hrs on Windows running some apps and using internet explorer (which is improved a lot and very fast). You can watch many youtube videos download some games and do something else on the side and the battery will seem like it lasts forever.
Speed:
The ssd does not slow down one bit and performs exactly the same. I download Microsoft Office 2007 and it extracted and installed the 2gb file in a couple of minutes. Like I said before Internet Explorer is very smooth and the trackpad works flawlessly with scrolling and tap to click. The whole operating system is very smooth and if you know how to use it can be very good. I don't really use the apps, but the desktop is nice and the new start menu is very pleasing to the eye.
Gaming:
I'm not really a hardcore gamer, but I installed Smite and League of Legends. Both games are very similar and both can be demanding. For both games I was plugged in, so I could not tell you about battery life. But the performance was great considering this is a "mac". For both games I could run it on high and the shader detail on medium and both games had 30-50fps. Of course it was a bit choppy during the busy areas of the map. For optimal performance have the settings at medium-high or low-medium for the best performance.
Windows 8 is not as bad as everybody says it is you just have to use it for a little bit, so you will know where to click to pull out the hidden menus in the left and right corners. The battery life is still amazing and the speed of this machine is very amazing also. Just wanted to share my opinion.
