My wife dropped the MacBook Pro from a seated position on the couch to the floor. It landed on the back edge and now the screen is not functioning. It will make a startup sound when you hit the power button but still a black screen. Computer seems to be functioning fine except the screen. Do you have any tips to make this work again? Thanks.

Hopefully, it's only the screen that was damaged and not the monitor connection on the logic board.

Remove the bottom of the laptop, disconnect the battery, and look for loose or damaged cables and connections. Try reseating the video cable. Hopefully, this fixes the issue.

You could also connect the Macbook to an external monitor and test everything. If everything works, you'll have to decide on a replacement screen or replacement MBP.
