I've been looking but can't seem to find a good source regarding the upgradability of the new 2013 (non-Retina) Hi-Res MacBook Pro 15".

I'm interested in a new model and would like to upgrade the RAM and the internal 2.5" HDD both to higher capacities.

Are these user upgradeable items or no?

Thanks.

Just a standard 2.5" HDD?

Correct, just like what you would have in any other laptop. Just make sure its actually standard and not one of those overly large storage ones that happen to be thicker than standard ones. But I had no problems putting in a 1TB 2.5" HDD into my 13" MBP... well, almost no problems. Just make sure you have the correct torx screwdriver to take the bottom plate off.

Only the retina and airs use custom storage drives.
