Hello,
I have an early 2013 15in MBP running Mojave 10.14.6. It has an issue where when it awakens from sleep or sometimes while running the backlight will turn off. The screen is still working as you can shine a light though the logo and see the screen. The keyboard lights work still. Sometimes a reboot or a reset of the pram will correct the issue. Since I can fix the issue with a pram reset it makes me think its not a hardware issue. I also noticed that when the issue is occurring and I hit the buttons on the keyboard to adjust the brightness the window showing the brightness level does not appear on the screen (looking at the screen with a flashlight through the logo). So it seems the software is aware the screen has no backlight as that window will show up normally when the screen is working (backlight on). What should I be checking to troubleshoot? Apple just said it was probably something hardware and wasn't worth fixing when I brought it in.

This seems to be the crash report from when I restart and the screen turns back on
