I was hoping that someone could help me figure out what’s wrong with my setup.

I’m not being able to get a 4K signal from my MBP to a Samsung U32D970 4K panel via DisplayPort.

The maximum resolution I’m getting is

U32D970:

Resolution: 2560 x 1440 (QHD/WQHD - Wide Quad High Definition)

UI Looks like: 2560 x 1440 @ 60 Hz

Framebuffer Depth: 24-Bit Color (ARGB8888)

Shouldn’t I be getting 4K, 60 Hz and 30bit color on this setup?

You should be able to get 4K @ 30 Hz out using an app like Retina DisplayMenu, but 4K @ 60 Hz is out of the question as your 2014 13" MacBook Pro simply doesn't support it.

Thanks for the tip.

Downloaded the app but still not showing the native 4K resolution of the screen. Might be cause it’s running at 60 Hz. No where can I see where to drop it to 30 Hz. Neither on the screen settings or on the MacBook.

Any advice?
