I recently purchased a 2014 Mac Mini with a factory 256GB SSUBX drive in it. I'd like to upgrade to a 1TB drive. Does anyone know if the 1TB SSUBX drives with heatsink (from the 2013 Mac Pro) will fit inside the case?

There is a lot of room in there so I'm thinking it should fit physically, and this page suggests it is compatible:

I note that the listing specifically excludes the MacBook Air, and I know there is not enough room in the MacBook Air.

Do you already have the drive? If you don't have the drive already, you can use a NVMe drive with an adapter, which usually is much, much cheaper. Since it's a Mac mini, you don't have to worry about the power management problems you get with the laptops when using such drives. However, if you were to use a third party drive, you should update the OS first before installing it.

Thanks for the response.

I went ahead and purchased a 1TB SSUBX drive and it fits with more than enough room. I feel pretty dumb for asking actually, but the pictures that I saw made the heat sink look much bigger than it actually is.
