With input from this forum and another like it, I received great feedback and information that helped me in my decision to buy a Late 2013 rMBP (Macbook Pro Retina) just two days ago. Thanks Guys & Gals.

My wife is really liking my new rMBP so I told her to think about the 2014 MBA and we'd go and let her test one out. Well, my wife is not one to wait so she went to Best Buy and likes both the 11" & 13" models and she's wanting one today! Gotta love it right. These are "Out-the-Door" prices:

Macbook Air 13": MD760LL/A (4GB/128GB) $ 870.91
Macbook Air 13": MD761LL/B (4GB/256GB) $1,189.99

Macbook Air 11": MD711LL/A (4GB/128GB) $ 740.11
Macbook Air 11": MD712LL/A (4GB/256GB) $ 914.51

In Ya'lls Opinion, Which of the four MBA's above are "Buy Now" Deals?

Appreciate your thoughts and input... plus it will help keep me in good graces with the Mrs. :D

If I see it correct, models ending with an A are the ''old'' Mid 2013 and ending with B are Early 2014.

With the current version you get more battery life, probably due to the processor.

From the top of my head:
Macbook Air 13": MD761LL/B (4GB/256GB) $1,189.99

The 256ssd gives some headroom.

None of those deals are special. They are pretty much what everyone is paying but keep in mind right now the prices for macs are as low as I have ever seen them.

Macbook Air 13": MD760LL/A (4GB/128GB) $ 870.91

Best overall value IMO. 870 out the door is a good price. From Apple, this machine is 999.00 before taxes. Is it the best deal ever? No, but it's a very solid discount.

At second thought I have to agree with capathy. Just consider if 128gb ssd will suffice.

You can't compare these two prices, as they are for different products.

If 128GB isn't enough, I would go for this. 80$ for 128GB is a fair price.

I bought a base model 13" about a month ago (2014 model) and it's wonderful. I was concerned about both the 4GB RAM and the 128 GB SSD, but both have proven to be non-issues. The battery life is phenomenal and the SSD really makes it feel like a very top end machine in terms of speed. I have been enjoying mine a lot and it gets about 4-6 hours use per day.

Isn't it great? Many people still have the old (spinning hard drive) mentality and believe more ram is necessary than it really is. Other than very specific heavy work like video editing etc, the base model will be more than enough power for most users.

No. MD760LL/A is the old MBA, while MD760LL/B from Apple for 999$ is the current MBA.

I stand corrected:)

I would still pick the 2013 model if it meant saving 130 plus tax. Virtually the exact same machine.

2014 Macbook Air(s) - Good Deal?

Wife decided on the MBA 13/4/128 late last night and plans to pick it up today.

After using my rMBP with 13" screen the 11" seemed smallish to her.

Plus I cut a deal with her that if she gets the MBA 13/4/128, which is a good price to me, that when I pickup the next "Latest and Greatest" Macbook this fall that I'd give her the rMBP. :)

Thanks everyone for your time and insight.

^^^^2013 & 2014 MBA have equivalent battery life. An improvement over the 2012 MBA.

do you trust her promise? I won't be surprised if she gets the latest model and you left behind keeping the older and slower....trust Devil....is safer! (Ha!Ha!)
