I'm having major issues since moving to high Sierra. At first, the problems I had included the following:

-Any program using the discrete graphics card would run slow or black screen
-switching between spaces took like 4-5 seconds

I'm connected to a 32" 4k monitor. I though t the graphics card was crapping out, so I took it to the genius bar. They said it was fine but I can send it in if I wanted to. The ticket is still open, but I wanted to see if anyone here has experienced similar.

I thought it was the install possibly, so I clean installed high Sierra. I don't get the black screen programs. It seems like the programs running the discrete card don't run as slow. However moving between spaces is painfully slow. And now typing on the keyboard has the same 4-5 second delay. And if I try to move the mouse while typing, it carries my text to the new line.

Usually a restart fixes this temporarily. Is this software or hardware related? It's a pain in the ass to be without a computer for a week, but It may make sense to send it in. It would be great to hear some feedback.

By chance, do you have CUDA installed? If so, I suspect that's your issue. You can check to see if this is the issue by SysPrefs-CUDA and see if the panel simultaneously states Update Required/No Later Update Available. There is a disconnect between Nvidia/CUDA/10.13. I found that removing CUDA (which requires terminal commands) solved this exact issue on my late 2013 15-MBP.

I do not. It seems like windowserver and kerneltask are eating up a chunk of cpu.

Are you also seeing elevated running temperatures? I am guessing you have already tried PRAM and SMC resets.

Have you tried Safe Boot? If so, does this issue happen while running in SafeBoot WITHOUT any 3rd party programs running?

I have not tried PRAM or SMC resets. I didn't think I needed to with a clean install of OSX. Yes the fan spins like crazy.

I'm still having issues with the PRAM and SMC reset. When I restart my computer, it runs fine. Is it possible High Sierra is having memory leaks? kernel_task and window server are eating up a lot of CPU and RAM.
