2014 Macbook Pro keyboard backlight not working

Hello,
The backlight of my keyboard is not working? It allows me to adjust the brightness with the f5/f6 keys and the brightness bar shows that it is being adjusted, however the actual keyboard backlight is not illuminating whatsoever. Although, when I click the caps lock button, the green light comes on like normal.

I also have tried turning off and on "Adjust keyboard brightness in low light" in system preferences but it is still not working.

Any help/suggestions would be appreciated! Thank you!
