So, the CPU on the 2014mbp 2.5ghz is faster than the 2016mbp 2.7ghz?
Anyone know why that is so?

I'm also curious to find out if there's been any issues with benchmarking on the latest model. Seems a part of the benchmark that has been compromised in terms of results is the Memory Latency and Memory Bandwidth portions. Not sure why we're seeing worse results with the faster 2133MHz RAM vs 1600MHz,

Three take-away lessons:
1. You can't compare clock speed between chips from different architecture.
2. Intel has not been interested in improving performance of mobile chips, but they are instead focusing on making CPUs more power efficient.
3. It's not Apple's fault.

But... same battery life, 10% slower iGPU, 10% slower CPU compared to last years model. That is quite a step down.
