I bought a 2.5 ghz, 1TB 2015 15" rMBP with dedicated graphics as our main machine and I'm no longer satisfied with my base 11" 2014 MB air. I now want a 15" with dedicated graphics but can't decide if I should get a 2014 and save 500 bucks or get the 2015 model. Performance difference doesn't seem to be too substantial and I'm going to use it for work and gaming. I'll use my 2015 for photo and video editing and don't feel like waiting for the next model. Can anyone give me some words of encouragement in either direction?

You get better inter grate gfx, ssd that's twice as fast, the new touchpad plus a more efficient faster cpu.

Is it worth it? I'd say yes. But going down the dedicated gfx route I'd recommend Apple care as a must!
