My 3.2 Ghz quad-core 2014 Mac Pro is my main workstation for Photoshop, After Effects and editing. I use a 2010 Macbook Air for mobile work, which I am now replacing with a 2014 13" rMBP (256GB base model).

Just out of curiosity: How does the new rMBP compare to my 2010 Mac Pro? Is it maybe even faster?

Outside of being very portable and having it's own screen (I'm being somewhat sarcastic, but not really), the 2014 rMBP will most likely have much higher benchmark scores than a 2010 Mac Pro.

Geekbench Mac benchmarks will show you just how much faster it is. The only area that a 2010 Mac Pro will excel is in the 64bit multicore benchmarks...assuming your Mac Pro has 6 cores or more with high end Xeon processors.
