Hi all.

I have an old 2015 12" macbook A1534 which was my daughters but suffered liquid damage and will not switch on. Opening it up, I'm surprised at how few components there are. I've done some online reading to troubleshoot but am hoping other might be able to point me in the right direction. I noticed the battery was swollen so have ordered a replacement. I did read that you can power a macbook without it's battery which I tried but nothing. The logic board led is coming on suggesting that it is getting power. I also read that if you disconnect the keyboard, when you plug it in it automatically switches on. Tried it again nothing. Any thoughts people might have in diagnosing would be appreciated.
Thank you.
Marc

Thanks for the info. Looking inside the macbook there appears to be a battery, logic board, keyboard, track pad, speakers, charging port & screen.
I'm no IT engineer but is it not a question of isolating the faulty component and swapping it out?

Perhaps… Sounds like you have a replacement battery on the way. Next would be logic board. If it an Intel m3 w/ 256GB storage, replacement used logic board price close enough to consider buying used m3 rMB laptop on eBay.
