2015 15" rMBP w/ Iris Pro graphics 4k performance?

Hey,

I'm getting a new rMBP for this new job and I'm tossing around the idea of getting a 4k monitor for it. I'm looking for anyone's experiences with using it in/out of clamshell mode and whether or not performance takes a hit.

It will be fine, the integrated graphics are pretty solid now. I believe I read the Iris Pro 6200 is on par with these desktop graphics cards (HD 6850, 7770, R7 260, R7 360 per toms hardware). You won't be playing modern games on full resolution with that, but it will run 4k no problem on normal day to day work and video.
