I'm curious what longtime 2015 and older MBP users think of the new 16" keyboard
(and also the Magic Keyboard on which it is modeled)

I got to try the 16" at BestBuy yesterday and it was a huge relief from the Butterfly era..

But.. I still really love (and prefer) the 2015 and before keyboards.

I'm a total sucker for the extra travel, bounce and softness at the bottom.

On my first day of working with the 16" coming from the 2015 15". I like the keyboard but I use a magic keyboard on my desktop, so I am used to the feel of the new MBP keyboard.

However, I am finding that I have a habit of resting my fingers on the function keys on my old MBP, which means I keep hitting things on the Touch Bar now.

I had a 2011, a 2014, 2018 and now a 16". To me, it feels better than the 2014 - the same key travel "feel" but over all tighter and more stable. I used my 2018 at a desk so that I could work with an external keyboard - so glad that I don't feel like I need to do that anymore.

The keys are more tactile and stable compared to the 2012-2015 MBPs. They also have more travel than the 2016-2019 MBP Butterfly keyboards. It's a good keyboard, very much like the Magic Keyboard 2 (though the keycaps are slightly bigger). I prefer it over the one on my 2012 15" Retina.

Finally got a chance to play with a 16" in store, liked the keyboard quite a lot. I said quite a while ago the butterfly wouldn't be so bad if it even had just fractionally more travel, and that is what this keyboard makes me think of. I think if using it as a main machine I could even come to prefer it over the retina generation keyboards.
