My macbook air recently started being unresponsive when I tried to wake it up. I press the power button and usually there is no response. Brought it by a repair place for a diagnostic check and without opening it up suspects its the logic board. quote for $600. Using it right now to make this post so sometimes it works and other times it just wont even turn on.

I do not know if it is connected but I had a lot of problems with slow wake ups, battery draining and not charging devices through USB a year or so back. Struggled for some time then when passing my local Apple Store I went in and asked if it meant I needed a new machine. The chap I spoke to told me there was a "Four finger salute" I think as reference to MS Ctr Alt Del where he pressed four keys at same waited for some lights to come on and rebooted. Sweet as a nut ever since. May not be related but as I was so pleased and I have same machine I thought I would pass on. Something about resetting power controller.
