After installing SmcFanControl on my new MBP 13" I discovered a strange behavior, comparing to any MBP I owned, including my wife's MBA: the fan stay a 0 RPM until temperature reaches about 40° C.
Initially I was thinking about an error in SMCFanControl, but after a little stress test I discovered the fan started spinning up according to the temperature rise, as it should be.
Could someone confirm this behavior ?

I haven't done any extensive testing, but I'm pretty sure the fan on my 13" 2015 rMBP doesn't turn on at all under light usage.

That's my experience as well. My CPU is currently 45º and the fan is 0 rpm. Even when the fan does kick on it's usually only 1300-1400rpm which makes the machine almost completely silent 99% of the time.

so i regret even less the choice I made to buy the rMBP over the rMB. coming from a late 11 MBP 15", this thing is a beauty: thin, light and silent.
