2015 MacBook Pro, GoPro editing

Hi all-

I am looking at switching to a Mac, primarily to be in a single ecosystem (I am an iPhone and iPad user), but also to edit GoPro footage. I have the Hero Silver 4, and plan to work with HD, not 4K footage. I need to be able color correct my footage since most is shot underwater.

I see some very good deals on the 2015 models- in particular, the model with 16GB, 256SSD, with the 2.2 GHz processor. This model does not have dedicated graphics.

Will this be sufficient for my needs, or should I go with the 2015 model with dedicated graphics or hold out for a new 2016 model?

I had the 12" MacBook with the m5 processor, the 2015 MacBook Pro base model and I now have the 2016 MacBook Pro base model and I had no issues at all editing video from my GoPro in either 1080p or 4K.. The m5 on the 12" MacBook struggled a little on 4K but was fine with 1080p..

The base 2015 Pro and the base 2016 Pro had no issues whatsoever with either 1080p or 4K.. My edits and exports were fairly short though so not sure how they'd do with a 2 hour long video...

The 2015 specs you listed will easily do the trick. By the way, I have a Hero 4 Black and a Hero 5 Session...
