Hey folks

Brand new to the Mac OS, bought myself a 2015 MBP for light video editing on the road using Davinci Resolve. I tend to shoot a lot in Blackmagic RAW, so I know the laptop won't love it. Davinci has a feature for "Optimizing Media", which I attempted to use but that seems to outright shut the laptop off after a few minutes.

Logic says CPU is overloaded or Macbook is overheating. What can I do to eliminate these crashes?

Check with Davinci's support first.

Then run AHT (https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201257) and see if there are any hardware problems with your laptop. There's a good chance your battery is bad. Run Coconut Battery and get the stats on it. But just because it doesn't say "Service Battery" doesn't mean it's bad.

You can run the Intel Power Gadget to see what happens with your temps before the crash as well.
