Hello -

My wife purchased a used 2015 MBP yesterday for $500. When she got it home, she asked me to do a fresh install of the OS. As I was looking it over, I noticed a white paste like substance around the screen and into the vent area. I also noticed that the screen didn’t have the nice glossy look to It like my 2012 MBP, it was a smudged/matte look. I messaged the guy and he told me that the white substance “was from the glass cleaner that he used On it. The same as a glass top stove”. 🤦 WTF?!?!? Really?

Anyways, is the screen actually glass? Or is it plastic? Does anyone know if the scratch removers work? Is there something else I could do? Or are we looking at getting the screen replaced?

Thanks for your time.
