Can you be a bit more explicit about your intentions? Are you intending to use the existing 4K monitor with one of the LG in your link, or not the 4K and two of the one in your link?

And will you be using the built-in monitor at the same time or not?

4k monitor will not be used on this laptop, it stays on a different machine.

To clarify, I am asking about using 2 x LG monitors in the link above on this MBP with the lid shut.

- Perfect. Thanks. That should cause no issues at all. The LG isn't very high-resolution - which is also why I will recommend against it. 2560 x 1080 makes little to no sense. Go for 2560 x 1440 instead such as in a Dell UltraSharp U2515H.

Interesting. Are there any monitors in the price range of the LG that have similar resolution as the Dell?

- Apologies. I didn't see the price was in CAD. The Dell also costs around $300, but in USD. :)

It's a pretty low budget for a good 1440p IPS monitor, so I don't know if you'll be able to find anything. But definitely look around for it. I really don't understand the 2560 x 1080 resolution, but it's of course cheaper in general.

You could get two used Cinema/Thunderbolt displays for $300 each. 27", 2560x1440....

No worries, thanks! I think they are designed for increased horizontal viewing?

I bought the LG and returned it. Then bought this, gorgeous display, using with my MBP 2015.

- Compared to 1920 x 1080, sure. I just think one might as well go for 2560 x 1440. Same horizontal space and more vertical space.

Otherwise, there's the 3440 x 1440 flavour, but those are expensive.
