I have a 2015 MBP 13". It was started freezing when I was watched a video in chrome. Rebooted and it would get grey boxes around the login name anon picture. if it did it let me log in it would be very wonky and freeze shortly after getting to the desktop. I booted it up in safe mode and it worked... for giggles I wiped the machine and started over with Mojave. SAME issues. But still worked in safemode. I suspected it was an Intel graphics issue but after rebooting it from safe mode I did a hardware diagnostic and it said the battery needed to be replaced with reference code PPT002. I opened the back and saw the battery puffed up. Ofcourse I need to replace it BUT what is the likely hood that it will still have issues after I replace it ?
