Hey Gang,

I'm looking at the 2015 13" MBP as a replacement for my Windows machine but I'm concerned about connecting it to an external monitor. According to Apple, it can drive a 4k monitor at only 24 Hz. I'm a pretty serious photographer so I'm wondering if 24 Hz will be acceptable for good Lightroom and Photoshop performance? How about for video editing? Any opinions or personal experience would be greatly appreciated.

While we're on the subject, how about overall performance in Lightroom and Photoshop? I'd go with a tricked-out i7 with 16GB of RAM and a 1TB SSD. Does anyone have any experience with processing large RAW files in Lr and Ps on a similar machine? Is it fast enough for you?

Many thanks,
Dave

It will run a 4K screen over display port 1.2 using the thunderbolt port at 60hz no problems.

It will be fine for photo editing, it's only a dual core processor though so adjust your video editing expectations accordingly.

Hello Dave410, you are right through HDMI you can't get 4k with 60Hz but as like Samuelsan2001 says with Displayport 1.2 u can. Iam using the same Macbook as you and can run the LG 27UD88 at 4k with 60 Hz without any problems.
