I got this core v1 and added a sapphire 570 AMD card. Everything turns on but it won’t work with my 2018 mbp(doesn’t recognize it plugged in) No thunderbolt 3 on my 2015 mbp. Has anyone been able to use a razer core v1 with macs or do we absolutely need a razer core x and it will only work with the 2018 I have?

I'd recommend checking eGPI.io as that's the best resource I've found. Might want to verify it's a good TB3 cable and not just USB-C.
For what it's worth I've used a step down from TB3 to TB2 with my Core X on a Mid-2015 MBP which worked in Boot Camp well but my card itself didn't work in macOS but the Core X was at least listed under System Report.

It is the original tb3 razer cable however it is not a core x. I am trying to get this core v1 to work with either macs.
