I'm curious, I have a mid 2012 MBP that had to be put down recently, I'm wondering if anyone has experience with the 2015 and 2016 models, is there really a significant difference between the two? would I be fine with the 2015 rMBP or should I spend the extra $300 for the newest toy?

If you are just looking at performance, the 2015 will be neck and neck with the new one. If you want a smaller, lighter laptop and a giant trackpad with a touchbar then get the new one. If you hate USB-C then get the 2015.
