This is nuts. Always having ridonkulous AirDrop connectivity and bluetooth issues. Tried forgetting the devices, rebooting unplugging AEBS and ISP modem, etc. Brand new devices, all updated, devices are beside each other, went into settings on both devices and deleted profile and tried to pair again and I still get this error message. One time it said connected after I clicked pair but that dropped after 0.5 seconds. WTF?!:apple:

Any ideas?

Your iPhone is not supposed to pair with your rMBP. See this article.
OK So that explains the BT but unfortunately it doesn't explain the AirDrop non-connectivity. 8 times out of 10 I have to redrag an item to the circle or it plain just doesn't work. My iPhone usually can drop to MacBook no problem but MacBook to iPhone is a nightmare.

And if we shouldn't be pairing iPhone/MacBook they shouldn't be trying to connect to each other in the BT pref panel.
