I'm with a lot of the critics of the new MBPs, so I'm wondering, especially with the "price drop" that MacRumors just did an article on (re the SSDs): how/where can I buy one of the "old" 2015 MBPs? I don't mean refurbished, I mean "brand-new" per the specs I want. I get the impression you can't order them on the web anymore.

Check the refurbished store. Also for the main store once you click on buy you can customize the notebooks a bit usually and pick out a gpu.

Try 3rd parties like Amazon and B&H Photography. I got my brand new 15" rMBP with dGPU, 512 GB off amazon in June for a good discount, $2150+. Apple wanted $2499 at the time.
Had I been smarter (and a little more devious) I would have gone to B&H and not had to pay tax since they are not in my state (another 9+% off).

Also, others have pointed out that you can get a returned Applecare at discount on Amazon. They guarantee these have not been activated, so you are good to go.
