Well... after working macs for the last decade I finally experienced the heart stopping and heart sinking moment when your laptop takes a tumble. Luckily I had a speck case on it so the damage could have been worse. It seem the only thing that's not functioning is the SD Card slot.

I've already done the PRAM and SMC reset, and the Card Reader doesn't show up in the System Profile. From everything I've read online that all points to one conclusion... Logic Board. I'm taking it to Apple on Friday, but does anybody have any other suggestions on things to try. Also does anybody have any idea how expensive this repair is going to be? I've seen logic board repairs in the past cost as much as new computer.

Most probably the internal connection has been damaged. Apple doesn't repair logic boards; they'll replace it outright if anything - which will cost a lot.

That's what I am afraid of, I'm really trying to figure out at this point if I will get it repaired or just sell it for parts, or use it without the SD Slot and hope there aren't other long term issues.

Update: The SD Card is separate from the rest of the logic board. Replacing the board would have been a $80 fix, however my warranty covered it. Hope this helps anyone else who visits this thread.
