Hello,

I purchased a MacBook 12 2017 with i7 16GB of RAM from a seller on eBay. The unit looked and felt brand new with the battery having only 1 cycle.

I have recently noticed one weird thing about the battery. The bottom case says A1534_EMC2746 and no SN which leads me to believe that at one point the battery and bottom case where swapped for new ones. The only thing that is weird it's that the new parts seem to be for the 2015 MacBook.

Coconut batter also says the designed capacity is 5297mAh and not 5550mAh.

Any thoughts?

Is it possible to use a 2015 battery with bottom case into a 2017 macbook?

No serial number on the bottom definitely seems weird, and would indicate that a case/battery swap.
