Does anyone know the best way to adjust the whiteness of the display? Mine seems a tad too warm for my liking.
 
System Preferences --> Displays. There's a color tab where you can set what color profile to use and calibrate your display.

Go into calibration, then click on the checkbox. This will unlock the option to set your display's white point. Not sure which step in the calibration routine allows you to alter white point offhand. This should get you to the screen you need though.

Just to add to the above tip.... if you hold the option key down when you click that Calibrate button, you will get some advanced options (expert mode) to allow you more fine tuning.
