So I bought a early 2015 rMBP refurbished from Apple last week. I chose this because of the price and ports. I am seeing many people complaining of the coating coming off the screen with this model and previous models. Apple said I am covered for 3 years if this issue arises. My issue is I plan on keeping this for a long time, not just 3 years. I also don't want to stress about the coating.

Should I return the 2015 rMBP and get a 2016/2017 model and deal with the lack of ports? From what I have read, these years don't have the screen peeling issue. What would you do?

My 2015 screen is fine.

And there nothing that says the 2016 and 2017 model are immune from MacBook screen issues like StainGate. The oldest of these machines is only 10 months old.

I did see some 16/17 users are seeing coating issues too.
