Right now bestbuy has the 1st gen version of the 13" touch bar w/512GB HDD for $1650 ($350off). Is it worth pulling the trigger for a year old version for about double the HDD capacity or is the newer processor and minor graphics card bump the better buy? Just wanted opinions before I pulled the trigger, thanks.

"Pulling the trigger"...

At that price difference the 2016 is an easy win. You're talking half the SSD for around 10% top end performance gain, not worth it at all.

When buying a computer by the way, don't focus too much on the CPU. Really you need 1Ghz, as that's what it's going to be running at most of the time. The top end performance gain usually means faster render times or processing power when maxed to 100%. So you're using 50% CPU 90% of the time, a 10% faster CPU is not going to make a difference to that what-so-ever, but will slightly reduce computation times when stressed. And that's just a note to everyone, don't worry about 2.9Ghz or 3.1Ghz, if you need that power you should already know as a professional, if you're asking the question then you don't need it!
