Hi,

Just had my 2016 MBP 15 back from topcase and screen replacement and now having this issue of volume toggle getting randomly activated when typing on the keyboard (nowhere near the toggle buttons of touchbar).

Has anyone experienced this issue?

Thanks!

If it's a result of a recent replacement like you said, then I'd definitely bring it back in and ask them to take a look. If you're on warranty/AppleCare then it shouldn't be an issue getting Apple to fix it, and even if it isn't, they'll probably get a hold of the issue if you make it clear that this happens as a result of the replacement.

If you can't do that immediately, then you could try "fixing" it for the time being by customizing the Touch Bar and moving the buttons around so that the volume toggle is somewhere else. From what you're describing, it sounds like a specific part of the Touch Bar is registering a press when it shouldn't, so moving the software buttons out of that place on the Touch Bar could be a solution for until you bring/send it in.
