Hoping someone has any advice. When my MBP goes to sleep for more than half hour, it crashes when I come back to it. I'm not sure what else to try. It happens both when connected to an external monitor with the power plugged in and also with no peripherals connected and no power. Thanks for any suggestions.

That's weird. Others have those kinds of crashes when doing time machine backups (check the other threads in this forum).

I'd call Apple care or visit a store, that's not normal.

Okay.. thanks for the input, much appreciated.

Just received the same error after waking up from standby. FileVault is on.

Did anyone who is having these kernel panics try the macOS 10.12.2 beta yet? I'm wondering if there are fixes in there which improve the situation... Although this does kind of feel like a potential hardware problem.

I thought I had my kernel panic problems solved after I ran First Aid on the macOS volume in recovery mode and it didn't get any panics the first night I let it sleep. This morning I found that my MBP had 6 kernel panics (all with the same report) over the course of one night. I just erased the volume and reinstalled macOS. If I am getting any kernel panics before my return window closes, this machine is going back.

In an earlier thread regarding the same problem, the common variable was having an external drive plugged in. Did you happen to have an external drive attached?

I'm getting more frequent sleep/wake crashes as well now. Nothing plugged in except power. Sadly, if a patch isn't released soon I'll be returning my 2016 and going back to my 2012. If they wait too close to the return period I'll return it anyway as I don't want to only have a week to test for these fixes.

Mine is still happening but it doesn't happen every single time. We do need an update soon. It's frustrating that when I leave my computer, there's a possibility it will turn back on to the state I left it.

Same here. It's not every time, but more frequently. The first week I got it the sleep/wake crash happened once. Last week it happened 4 times.

Happened to me today. Nothing was attached to the Macbook

so Apple didn't allow their devs to use these on a daily basis to see these bugs lol, or they knew but released it anyway.

Same here. 2016 MBP with touchbar, crashes almost each time in sleep. No external harddrives attached. Sometimes a external display but MBP crashes with and without it attached. Real bummer

same. no external monitor, no backup processes, happens 2-3 times a week during night sleep, sometimes more often. not sure it's connected, but this happens more frequently when chrome is left opened with whatsapp web tab. (still, this happens even with no active programs..) 2016 mbp with touchbar.
