Just got my new 15 inch MB Pro. I'm going to need a longer cord for charging. The guy at the Apple store gave me the power adapter extension cable, but now that i'm reading the side of the box it doesn't list the 87w as a compatible use. Is this really the right extender? If not, which one is?

Pretty sure all the extension cables are basically the same. Also for anyone looking to get one for their 2016 MacBook Pro, I picked up mine from Goodwill for $2 (usually $3.99, but 50% off for Black Friday); they literally have dozens of them sitting around in the electronics section.

It's the exact same one they've included with all their power adapters for years; they're just making a quick buck by selling it separately now. It'll work just fine with any adapter it fits.

i bought it anyway, the diagram on the side of the box the cable comes in shows the usb-c charger now, so I guess it's okay.
