Hi
I have a 2016 mac book pro which is running OS Monterey and is working really well.

I read online that it is « unsafe » since this laptop is no longer receiving security update from Apple.

I have bitdefender as an antivirus and I use chrome as a web browser and password manager.

I was doing regular things with this mac book like scrolling online, emails, banking.

Do you guys feel like it’s unsafe and I should but a new computer?

Thks

should be safe, I recently switched to Sequoia last Wednesday from Monterey just for Tahoe prep.

I use a MacBook Air 2010 annually every autumn for a free-lance graphic design project since 2012,
their was no problem sending JPG, tex edit and libre office files weekly via email as well as mailing a usb drive.
now.... your bank will let you know if your software is out dated
as ING is telling Windows 10 users they have to upgrade.

Monterey still has a more secure platform compared to Mojave.
you could use an OCLP to use Tahoe later this year after Dorian
(or who ever...from Edmonton) figures everything out as they patch MacBooks for the latest release.

hope this helped.... as more might support or crucify my advice very soon!
