Hi,

I have a late 2016 MacBook Pro - non touchbar, with the butterfly keyboard.

I know these keyboards are notoriously problematic, but I actually haven't really had any issues... until this week.

For the last few days the 'T' key has been very sticky, not always registering the key press, etc. This morning I sprayed the keyboard with compressed air, as directed on the Apple website. Since doing this, the T key cap is now loose. It still works, but feels strange/hard to type on. It can also be lifted slightly, although I haven't gone any further because I'm afraid of making the problem worse. At the moment I can still type on it.

I understand my keyboard is covered under the service program, but my question is will they say I've 'damaged' it and charge me? Also, I have an issue with the battery, which is displaying a 'Service Battery' notification. I've read that if your MacBook goes in for repair and they find other issues, they'll charge you for those things even if that wasn't why you took it in.

Any ideas? I've always found Macs to be very reliable but this one has proved disappointing. I'm looking forward to the new 13/14 inch coming out with the 'Magic' keyboard so that I can replace this one.

They won't grill you, they'll just set up a replacement.

They won't charge you for anything you don't agree to.
