Hey guys! I'm getting into coding and starting to see that my small 13" is starting to be too small for me. I'm not quite there financially to go out and get the new 16" MBP just yet so I'm want to see if my lil ol 13" 2016 MBP is capable of running on a 4k Wide Screen Monitor?

Here are the specs of my MBP
2.9 GHz Dual-Core Intel Core i5
Memory 8GB 2133MHz LPDDR3
Intel Iris Graphics 550 1536MB

Or should I try to find a slight new-is Mac mini or even a Mac Pro on OfferUp or LetGo?
Thoughts? Comments? Concerns? Much appreciated!

My 2017 MBP 13 TB goes to a widescreen 4K at 60hz with ease. My 2014 mini does not.

The 2016 MBP supports 4K at 60hz. Actually it supports dual 4K@60hz or a single 5K@60hz. Be sure you use a monitor with DisplayPort so you don't have to get a pricey active HDMI adapter cable. No need to get a desktop for this.
