The internet is full of 2016 MBPs that boot in about 5-10s.

Mine takes about 20. Why is that? I have reset PRAM and there are no login items.
 
Open System Preferences and go to the Startup Disk pane and make sure the internal flash drive is selected as the boot drive.

Do you happen to have FileVault encryption turned on? That will make it boot slower.
