Business Administration: Accounting student here, aside from that my demands that need to be met on this laptop are:

- Dual Boot (Bootcamp or a VM). This will be vital as a BA student
- HDMI straight into TV for movies as I don't have cable television
- My processing demands are 90% related to school, aside from that I would like to be able to do basic editing to photos taken with my iPhone

Here is what I'm looking at:
  • 2.0GHz dual-core Intel Core i5 processor, Turbo Boost up to 3.1GHz
  • 16GB 1866MHz memory
  • 512GB PCIe-based SSD
  • Intel Iris Graphics 540
  • Backlit Keyboard (English) & User's Guide
  • Two Thunderbolt 3 ports
Does anyone know if the 512 SSD's in the 13" MBP's are a nominal bump in speed compared to 256's?

Can I drop it down to 256? Can I drop it to 8GB RAM?

I would like to at least be able to skip the next update with this purchase.

Thanks in advance.
