Some of the keys on my 2016 Macbook Pro 13" TB squeak loudly when pressed, as long as the computer is warm. I just hit the end of my limited warranty (no AC+), but I went to the store to see if I could get a top-case replacement. The employee told me that because Apple has not formally recognized a defect with the keyboard (who knows if they ever will?), I cannot get it serviced for free out of warranty. Has anyone had luck getting their 2016 Pro's keyboard replaced after their limited warranty has expired?

Do you have a video of this for documentation purposes?
With a link to a (private) video, I think approaching Apple corporate to show them the issue in action (so they can see a primary account of the severity of the problem), expressing your disappointment with the issue, and kindly requesting that they consider taking action may be a good next step.

Alternatively, some Users here have suggested that credit card companies will pay for these types of repairs, depending on the credit card. Might this be another option in your situation?

Unfortunately I don't have any warranty extension through a credit card. I'll see what I can do with corporate. Do you have any idea who I should contact first (higher up than the generic apple support rep) in order to escalate the issue?

This is exactly why I got extended apple care lol. Got a 2017 nTB in August and the E key is squeaky and a few others. Gonna take it in to be fixed every chance I get.

I would call AppleCare and briefly explain your situation and kindly ask to speak to a Senior Advisor.

Having a video with the audio qued when on the phone may be useful as well, so they can hear on the spot the issue you are experiencing.
