Hi all,

I currently have a 2017 iMac, 3.5 GHz Quad-Core Intel Core i5 with 40gb memory, Radeon Pro 575 4 GB.

I need a laptop which I shall then use as my main machine and hook up to a monitor, my question is which is the best to go for, a new Macbook Air or the new 13" Macbook Pro?

Based on my current spec iMac which still runs fine and does everything I need, will the new Air and Macbook pro be noticeably quicker than what I have?

It depends on how much RAM you use, but would recommend trying the base MacBook Pro 14 with M1 16gb RAM. If you end up needing more RAM, you can go to 24GB MacBook Air M2.
