2017 MacBook and Monterey

How about a Macbook bought in december 2013? It's running Big Sur (last update) very nicely with 4GB RAM & 1TB SSD.

Well certainly as i've made made Macbook from 2007 run El Capitan which is not compatible (thanks to RMC Team and MacRumors), maybe soon there will be a way to go around this issue and have Monterey running in "unsupported" Mac. ?

I would love to get Monterey on a late 2014 iMac which barely got cutoff from requirements.
I installed it on my MacBook Early 2016 (M3). It was a 12.3 GB download and took about 3-4 hours to download and install it. No interaction required though so I just let it do its thing.
No problem at all so far. All the settings were carried over. I use it daily but only for light tasks such as web browsing, YouTube, email, office docs etc.
I installed day on release day on my 2017 1.3GHz i5. No issues anywhere, and think it might have made everything slightly faster. Happy with Monterey, even if it doesn't seem like a mayor update.
Not sure where you’re seeing that as Apples site says 2016 and newer 12” MacBook.

I'm sorry I thought you were talking about the MBP pro. I'm running Monterey on a Early 2015 MBP.Not sure where you’re seeing that as Apples site says 2016 and newer 12” MacBook.

I'm still on Catalina both on MacBook 12" 2015 1.1 Ghz and MacBook 12" 2019 1.3 Ghz, 'cause I don't like the new GUI with massive pan and flat UI, and the issues on BigSur launch (same happens with Monterey).
Anyone had updated from Catalina to BigSur on 1.1 2015 and know how it run?

I have Big Sur running on a base 2015 1.1 with no problems. Machine still feels fast for my day to day usage - mostly browsing safari and office applications.
Totally agree. MB12 i7 512GB 8GB here. Runs smoother and better than Big Sur, less colored balls and overall good, stable performance. Maybe a bit more battery consumption but my battery also declined quite a lot during the last months...
Runs great on my 2017 16 GB 1.2 GHz Core m3-7Y32 MacBook.
It also runs great on my 2015 8 GB 2.7 GHz Core i5-5257U MacBook Pro, and my 2014 8 GB 2.6 GHz Core i5-4278U Mac mini.
All are great but despite the nominal clock speeds, the MacBook is the best out of the three when it comes to video, since it has hardware HEVC support.
It also runs great on my 2015 8 GB 2.7 GHz Core i5-5257U MacBook Pro, and my 2014 8 GB 2.6 GHz Core i5-4278U Mac mini.
