Hi,
I am looking for a compact protective case for my 2017 mpb that does not retain a lot of heat. I have read about lifespan of some MPB being reduced with certain cases.

I already own a sleeve for transportation.

Thanks

I bought one of those inexpensive plastic ones on Amazon, it has vent cutouts on the bottom and I haven't noticed any heat issues. They are relatively thin as well so there isn't much there to retain heat. I've never noticed it to be excessively warm when I pick it up. You could always find something to use as feet on the back to elevate it an inch and that would help if you are concerned.

Seconding @cyclingplatypus his experiences. Seriously, these laptops don't draw a lot of power nowadays, there's barely any heat in the first place. At first, I was worried about this as well, and used one of these utilities to crank up the fans a bit. But I've long removed that utility, it simply doesn't get hot enough to matter with normal usage.
