I recently returned a 2020 MacBook Air that was causing me problems (hot hot hot), and acquired a 2017 MacBook Pro 13 inch (no Touch Bar) instead. I'm really liking this Pro so far (I don't even mind the butterfly keyboard too much, and am getting used to it. However, I'm concerned about the touchpad. It's kind of...mushy? The haptic feedback is not very strong when clicked, especially in the center of the touchpad. The click always works, but sometimes I'm unsure if it has or not. I turned the setting up to a "firm" click, but that just created a bit more of a delay in clicking, rather than increasing the feedback. Is it possible the touchpad is going? Or is this normal? The 2020 Air that I returned had a dream of a touchpad, and clicking felt very solid and reassuring. Before that, I was using Windows laptops for a few years, so I don't have much to compare it to. Is it possible that my trackpad is going, or is this par for the course for the 2017's?
