I noticed there hasn't been anything posted recently about replacement batteries.
Two questions -
Amazon shows a lot of batteries for 13" MB's but few for 12". Does the 12" & 13" use the same battery?

OWC only shows 11" and 13" MBA
Here's what About About This Mac shows -
So what gives? Do I order for an 11 or 13?

Are any of the Amazon batteries any good? My main reason for buying from them is if the battery has problems initially, it's really easy to return.

Thanks.

Bigwaff - thanks for the reply and link. I watched a couple of videos on battery replacement and all it involved was a few screws and one ribbon cable. The iFixit instruction are 52 STEPS !!! They estimate 2-3 hrs. Way too much room for introducing problems. I think I'll reconsider other options.

the 12" MB was a cow to work on - replacing battery being one of the most tedious jobs.
earlier models - such as 11"/13" Air were a snack by comparison.

As someone that just swapped the battery in their 12” 2016 rMB, can confirm that it’s quite the to-do. I’ve been inside that machine more times than I can count at this point doing other various repairs (keyboard swap, trackpad swap), but the battery was certainly the worst one so far.

Has anyone gotten Apple to replace the battery on a 12" recently, or is that out off the table?
I had mine replaced within the last month at an authorized third-party service provider. Oddly, Apple told me that they themselves were no longer able to obtain parts, but the authorized third parties could. Seemed strange but I was indeed able to get the work done.

This was on a machine that still has AppleCare, so it would have been an interesting conversation otherwise.

Did the shop provide an original Apple battery? Does it include part of the MacBook casing?

How did your MacBook still have AC+?
