2017 Macbook shopping list

Looking to buy my daughter a 2017 Macbook. Also want to buy a screen / monitor to hook up the Macbook for some extra screen real estate.

Could you suggest a shopping list as I have read a lot of posts by remain unsure what screen, cables and other peripherals would work.

UK based.
