iPad Pro 2018 12.9 dual screen or just mirror?

Will a 2018 12.9 iPad Pro be able to use an external monitor as a second display in full screen with the coming ios16, or is it m1 exclusive?
Not mirroring with the black bars, but an actual 2nd usable screen.
