I know the 15 model has upgraded speakers. I want to know if anyone could comment on the 2018 13 macbook pro speakers? Were those upgraded? I want to know how they sound, specifically compared to the 2017 15 inch models if anyone can compare

Not sure about the comparison request you're after ... however many people stated the 2018 MBP models (all) seem to have either newer or better designed speakers/ports for the speakers! I have received mine today but I'm not taking it out of the box JUST yet.
EDIT: Just completed initial setup of my 2018 tbMBP and WOW the speakers are freaking incredible ... a LOT more base and even sound distribution than the 2011 MBA.

I have the 2018 13" and did have a 2017 13" and can confirm the speakers are much louder and clearer this year.

I did that test and can tell you that in real life the 13" speakers are way better than they where in the 2016/2017 models. The 15" is a complete other story, they are absurdly good for laptop speakers. The 13" have way better lows than yesteryears, but the mids are lacking other than that they sound great.
