Hey all - was wondering if anyone had pricing historicals for the 13" MBP w/ TB with maxed-out processor, 16GB RAM, and 512GB SSD. Need to allocate scholarship funds to buy the 2018 model (with relative/same upgrades) next fall - will the price be significantly different from the current $2500? Not sure if the price goes up every year - also any estimates on education discounts (would it be the same as it is now) would be great. Thanks in advance!

If it's currently $2500 then budget for $2500...

Education discount is always the same, at around 10%. The price could go down a little but depends how they handle it, if they boost specs/standard kit it'll probably be the same price just better value. If they use current tech in the same form then it'll be a little cheaper. But you aren't going to suddenly see $1999 or anything, expect $2400 at most. Which is why I say budget for what it is to avoid disappointment.

Speaking of which, you're basing this on a hope they will update them in 2018. Whilst probably true, you might also wait the entire of next summer and find they don't release anything, and then be stuck waiting for 2019... Basically, if what you want is available and you need it, then buy it.
